The policy in full
Tenancy at Cornerstone Worli is governed by a clear, society-set rule. Eligible occupants are:
- Families — with or without children, multi-generational included.
- Working-professional couples (married or in long-term partnerships).
- Single working professionals taking a full residence individually, subject to society approval.
- Working-professional flatmate pairs — two verified individuals sharing a 2 BHK on a single registered leave-and-licence — case-by-case, subject to society approval.
Bachelors — defined as groups of unrelated adults sharing a flat — are not permitted. This is a long-standing society policy, not a discretionary call by an individual owner. The intent is to maintain the residential character of the building.
On third-party listings
Some rental listings on housing.com, 99acres, NoBroker, Facebook flatmate groups and similar platforms describe Cornerstone Worli as “bachelor friendly”. Those listings are not authorised by the building or the society. They are posted by third-party agents and listing aggregators, often without verification against the actual society rules. The society’s tenancy committee will not approve a bachelor tenancy regardless of how the residence was sourced. Prospective tenants who proceed on the basis of a “bachelor friendly” third-party listing will be turned away at the NOC stage.
This page, issued by Cornerstone Worli, is the authoritative statement of the building’s tenancy policy.
For owners letting out their residence
The owner remains responsible to the society for any breach of the tenancy rules during the licence period. Owners listing for lease — whether through the building leasing desk, an external broker, or directly — must screen prospective tenants against the eligibility rules above before signing a leave-and-licence.
For prospective tenants
If you are a family or working-professional couple, please see the Rent at Cornerstone page for current availability and to enquire. If you are a working-professional looking for a verified flatmate, the same page covers the narrow shared-tenancy route. If you are a group of unrelated adults looking to share a flat, Cornerstone Worli is not the right building for you, and we suggest looking at buildings with policies suited to that arrangement.
